FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD IS NOT INTERESTED IN WATCHING THE VIDEO?

The video works best for kids between the ages of 18 months and 5 years. The viewing / feeding environment should be comfortable with no pressure. Just have the target food on a plate, presented in the way we present the foods in the video - some whole, some chopped. Check that your feeding environment is not restrictive. Most children prefer to eat at a low table, where their feet can touch the ground. Some children prefer to stand at a low table while they eat. Making sure they are comfortable is a key piece to success.

HOW OFTEN DOES MY CHILD NEED TO WATCH COPY-KIDS BEFORE SHE WILL ENGAGE?

This is highly subjective. My daughter did not start eating bell peppers until after her 6th viewing. Most parents tell me this is one of the easiest chapters for their children. However, my daughter now loves all varieties of bell peppers. She ate broccoli after the first viewing of that chapter - this is one I thought would be challenging and it was not.

IF MY CHILD STARTS EATING THE FOOD, DOES HE NEED TO CONTINUE WATCHING?

Only if they want to... once the child develops a love for the food, they will eat the food without the video. However, you will notice that they eat a great quantity of the target food in one sitting when they do watch the video - so you can always pop it on to give them a boost.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD DOES NOT IMITATE AT ALL?

If the child watches but does not imitate, the idea of joy in eating healthy foods has still entered the mind. Some kids have absolutely never seen someone laughing and genuinely enjoying crisp raw vegetables. I would say it is still worth it to invest time in that view of life.
